Global Thinkers Forum & Google MENA announce Women, Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Dubai in partnership with Oasis500
Dubai, March 30th 2014 - The international organization Global Thinkers Forum and Google UAE are delighted to announce an event dedicated to women entrepreneurs & innovation that will take place in Dubai, in the Google offices on April 14, 2014 in partnership with Oasis500, the leading early stage and investments company in MENA region.
The event will be opened by Maha Abouelenein Head Global Communications & Public Affairs Google MENA. The day will feature eight young women pitching on stage to a select crowd of investors and then allow one-on-one meetings with them.
Among its five-year goals, Global Thinkers Forum has set a commitment to actively help young or aspiring entrepreneurs realise their dream by providing them with knowledge on how to transform their idea from a vague concept to a real venture. In this respect GTF creates results-driven projects that will attract investment which will benefit all stakeholders, partners with organizations that actively support entrepreneurs.
GTF CEO & Founder, Elizabeth Filippouli, states: “This is a very important event as it is part if the GTF commitment to actively create opportunities and networking events for young entrepreneurs in the MENA region and to also and nurture social entrepreneurship. In return, Oasis500 CEO, Mr. Yousef Hamidaddin commented: “We saw many women who went through the process of establishing a company in the field of information technology and communications, and now we are seeing many examples of the companies that were established by the women and in which we invested. Currently, around 22% of women entrepreneurs are receiving training and Oasis500 has invested in more than 31% of the companies.” Hamidaddin also added: “We are always eager to endorse women entrepreneurs in MENA, and continue our efforts to leverage them through partnerships and global networks such as the Global Thinkers Forum”.
