Head of Media Relations | Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) - Abu Dhabi, UAE
1. Manage the ongoing ENEC media relations activities
• Liaise with local, regional and international media, English and Arabic
• Manage the ENEC public relations firm
• Support the education of local media on nuclear energy, the UAE program and ENEC to ensure accurate reporting
• Monitor and respond as necessary to any issues or inaccuracies in local, regional or international media
• Lead the development of all media content including press releases, statements, speeches, articles etc – in both English and Arabic
• Work with other departments, including the Chief Nuclear Office, to develop a coordinated response to crisis communications
2. Act as the ENEC spokesperson vis-à-vis the media
• Lead and manage all interaction with media – providing written and verbal statements and responses to media in both English and Arabic
• Support the training and development of other ENEC spokespeople, from the Senior Management team to young talent within the company
3. Provide timely media reports and analysis of ENEC and the UAE Nuclear Energy Program
• Coordinate and distribute timely and insightful media reports following key events or announcements
• Coordinate local and international agencies (i.e. South Korea), when appropriate
4. Collaborate in the production of the ENEC public relations strategy
• Develop, monitor and refine ENEC’s media relations strategy
• Produce and update corporate messaging
• Identify and prioritize key media outlets
• Evaluate and refine following media analysis and public opinion research
5. Stakeholder Relations
• Establishes and manages effective relationships with external parties
• Facilitates critical internal and external communication required to meet organization’s business and development objectives
6. People Management
• Leads a team of professionals within own area of control and focus
• Establishes a core team of employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy
• Directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they fulfill their duties in the safety function
Skills
• Bachelor/university degree in media related Discipline
• 8-12 Extended expertise with local and regional Arabic media
• Spokesperson for a relevant UAE entity or company – fluent in both English and Arabic
• Ability to write in both English and Arabic
• Deep knowledge of the local media market
• Crisis management skills
• Proficient in public speaking in both English and Arabic
• Proven experience in developing media strategies and corporate messaging
• Proficiency in Arabic (oral and writing)
• Ability to work across different functions
• Arabic and English fluency
