Interactive Developer | Catch Dubai
The Interactive Developer is a web developer with a focus on design production following Art Direction from senior members of the creative team. An integral member of the Design team, this Developer is capable of translating and applying Art direction into Design and Production implementing advanced front end HTML, Flash and JavaScript coding for Catch’s online projects.
Additional skills and interest in 3D, After Effects video and design will be integrated if the candidate shows potential
The Interactive Developer position is a mid-level position in the Catch structure – where the employee has the opportunity to gain familiarity with Catch’s clients, processes and design style, while honing his or her skills and toolset for later promotion to Senior Interactive Developer, usually within 1 year.
As such, it is important for the Interactive Developer to continue to explore new technologies and design techniques while performing his or her daily duties.
Tasks
- Prepare graphics for the web and “slice” designs for HTML implementation;
- Code web pages in HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript based on designs provided by the Designers and pass these pages to the Programmers for further coding as required;
- Create Story Boards and Implement Flash animation based on design files provided by the Designers;
- Provide Flash scripting (ActionScript) to add functionality to Flash assets provided by the Designers (advanced interactive functions, etc);
- Upload prepared graphics, Flash or other web assets to the web server;
- Work with Designers, Programmers and Account Executives to provide feedback and advice on layout and functionality feasibility.

- Prepare all materials based on Art Director requirements;
- Work with Programmers to integrate front and back end code;
- Deliver all materials according to set deadlines;
Skills
- Competent in Flash animation and ActionScript;
- Ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deliver all materials according to set deadlines;
- Demonstrated Proficiency in Photoshop, Flash, DreamWeaver, ability to code HTML, DHTML, XHTML and advanced CSS (1 and 2);
- Demonstrated ability to provide cross-browser compliant HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript;
- Demonstrated ability to render provided artwork in HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript as provided, with minimal design changes;
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English a must.
- Good web design skills a strong plus;
- Additional skills in 3D software, After Effects & video a strong plus
- Flash Scripting a plus;
- Arabic language a plus;
