The Officer, Corporate Communications will play an important role within the team, responsible for providing expert communications input and supporting the team’s Senior Manager particularly in the work of delivering Arabic and English language internal and external communications material, events support, media & external relations, daily news monitoring as well as internal and external publications.
Main Responsibilities:
• Produce assorted in house news and internal communications content
• Monitor the coverage of QFCRA press and media releases as well as updating press cuttings directories
• Draft English and Arabic press releases, articles, thought pieces and assorted promotional and media relations material
• Oversee the regular maintenance of the Corporate Communications component of the QFCRA website
• Assist in the development of corporate relationships with key local, regional and international stakeholders and work on assorted community engagement projects
• Support senior management and others in the preparation of conference and speaking material
• Strengthen relationships with relevant media and news outlets
• Deputise for the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications when necessary.
Requirements
• A minimum of 3 years experience working within a significant corporate communications function
• Fluent Arabic and English language skills
• Excellent corporate writing or journalism skills.
• Experience of producing annual reports and other corporate material especially in financial services, business or banking
• Experience of delivering professional media relations especially within bilingual English / Arabic news, media or business wire environments
• Appropriate IT skills and knowledge of on-line environment
• Flexibility to undertake other duties as required and to showcase teamwork
• A degree, equivalent qualification or high levels of proven relevant experience.
• A practical knowledge of web applications, including web publishing tools, Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop and photo editing tools (or similar packages) is highly desirable but not essential
