Design — By Samer Marzouq on August 9, 2009 at 2:20 pmOur client, a multi national brand communication agency is seeking a Design director for their Dubai based office. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will lead initially a project recently won in India alongside a team of both junior and senior graphic designers.
You will direct, plan and execute each phase of the assigned project; directing creative personnel, resources, and processes, while being accountable for the design quality of this particular project managed.
You will work initially closely with the client in India and guide and create the necessary strategy to direct design team. You must demonstrate adherence to established budgets and schedules, and propose creative solutions to decision makers. You will also collaborate with project management personnel on further proposals and pitches.
As a design director you must seek product excellence in all aspects of design work, drive to be recognised as a valuable partner, both internally with colleagues (in the studio and in the project management team) and externally with international clients, and serve as a mentor to all levels of designers/creative.
In addition, you will be responsible for marketing, creative strategy and creative process, planning/resource management, and team management on each project, which will rotate from country to country as and when pitches are secured.
The ideal candidate will have 5 + years of working within a Branding agency; please do not apply if you have advertising experience as a designer or design director. You must have experience across all practices within a recognized brand management agency.
The design director will serve as a role model for designers at all levels, as well as be a meaningful contributor to the design community. Fluency in Hindi, Punjabi and Gujarati essential. Strong verbal and written English communication skills a must. Arabic not essential.
