Lecturer – Animation | twofour54 Abu Dhabi, UAE

The main role of the Lecturer is to assist the Head Lecturer in teaching and delivering units of the Animation Production programs. The job entails supporting students’ learning, and developing innovative curricula and learning & teaching methods in the area of animation production.

Main Responsibilities
Teaching
• Plan, prepare and deliver units (lectures, seminars and/or tutorials) in animation and production in accordance with the course curriculum to meet the needs of students, taking into account student assessment strategies.
• Provide guidance, feedback, support and tutorship for student groups and individuals as appropriate.
• Develop new curricula in animation and production and supervise the updating and development of existing curricula.
• Co-ordinate the development of established and innovative learning and teaching methods.
• Develop appropriate assessment criteria and methodologies.
• Undertake, and manage as required, initiatives and projects to widen access, improve student employability and/or partnership activities.
• Organise programmes of master-classes and visiting speakers.

Other
• Co-ordinate and undertake administrative activities as required.
• Maintain personal and professional development in line with agreed appraisal and development programmes to enhance personal knowledge and contribution to relevant activities.

Essential
• Professional work experience in the animation and production industry.
• Professional knowledge in relevant computer software applications used in the 2D Animation and production industry such as ToonBoom, Adobe Flash, After Effects etc.
• 1st degree in animation, computer animation or equivalent.
• Teaching experience in 2D animation and production related subjects.
• Project planning and management skills.
• Strong communication, team work and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide effective and sympathetic guidance, support, supervision and assessment of students.
• Experience of current learning and teaching methods.
• Arabic language skills

Desirable
• Academic qualification in animation or computer animation at Masters Level or equivalent level of relevant professional qualifications and/or experience in a relevant area.
• Knowledge of current developments in learning and teaching practices.
• Existing regional and / or international networks in the animation sector and / or in media organisations
