Although, ideally we would prefer the analyst to be located in Saudi Arabia, we are flexible and will consider good candidates located in other countries in the Middle East region. Please note this is a freelance project-based position, although continuous work can be offered throughout the year.
Our projects
Our research would address the following questions in order to deliver insightful business intelligence to clients:
- How much fruit juice was consumed in Saudi Arabia in 2009? How does this compare to the previous year?
- Who are the leading companies in shampoo? What % share is held by the leading brands?
- Is there a market for my product? What channels should we sell through? Who are our competitors and how should we position our offering to best effect?
- Why are our competitors doing better than us? What is their success strategy and how is this supported operationally? What can we do differently to improve our performance and remain at the top?

- Research experience with proven skills in desk research and trade interviewing
- High level of numeracy
- Familiarity with consumer goods markets (FMCG)
- Computer literacy
- Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic are essential
- Good communication skills
Profile
The successful candidate will be located in Saudi Arabia or, at the very least, within the Middle East region itself, be able to work from home, and have access to a PC (Windows) and the Internet. Time commitments vary according to projects however a minimum commitment of around 35-40 hours a week would be necessary for most projects.
Reporting to a project commissioner in our London office, you would be involved in all aspects of the research process, from personal visits to stores, to secondary source information-gathering, trade surveys, report-writing and data analysis.
A strong background in economics, marketing, and/or market research is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate will enjoy problem solving, demonstrate a can do attitude, be able to work independently and be tenacious in their pursuit of information.
