Communications Director | Dubai
- Prepares Dubai Culture and Arts Authority’s communications annual budget and presents it to the Senior Finance Director for consolidation.
- Recommends the agencies’ communications annual budgets based on the agencies framework agreement in coordination with the Senior Finance Manager and agency CEOs.
- Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing the Communications Directorate’s strategies in compliance with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Sets overall procedures and standards for the communications function in conjunction with the applicable policies and directives as set by DCAA and Dubai Government.
- Coordinates with DCAA’s Directors and agencies’ CEOs to identify communications needs and liaise with news, media, public interest groups and agencies concerning authority’s activities.
- Oversees the marketing, public relations and event management activities to ensure that they are aligned with those activities performed by the DCAA’s agencies; and develops an innovative technique to improve the flow of information from DCAA to DCAA’s agencies and to the general public.
- Controls and monitors the development and design of all DCAA’s wide public relations and communications products, including brochures, internal newsletters, articles, web content and news releases.
- (preparing a yearly plane) Plans and ensures DCAA’s participation in international and national events that promote and maximize the agency’s brand and image in line with the communication strategy; and identifies opportunities where DCAA is able to receive media coverage.
- Oversees market and industry trends and analyze competitors to maintain DCAA’s leadership position and evaluates competitive marketing communications and public relations strategies.
- Ensures effective utilization of marketing communications and public relations resources within assigned budget.
Skills
Experience and/or knowledge of Advertising and Event Management
Experience and/or knowledge of branding and PR best practices and processes.
Excellent relationship management, planning and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience in Staff Development and Strategic Planning skills
Internal communication with Authority Directors, Agency CEOs, Director General and own team.
External communication with concerned representatives from local Government Departments, the Executive Council, local and international advertising agencies, press and media.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a managerial role
Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations
