Media Manager | Abu Dhabi
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Media Manager to manage media relations outreach on a local and regional level.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Communications Director, your responsibilities will include:
> Managing local and regional media database
> Implementing a media outreach campaign to drive awareness of the Tournament amongst local and regional media
> Assisting in the implementation of media activities at the Tournament, including the tournament organizer’s press conferences, team press conferences, match press conferences and player interviews, training sessions, etc
> Overseeing media facilities and relationships with local and regional media during tournament
> Writing press materials, including press releases, facts sheets and speeches
> Managing a team of Media Officers during the tournament who will work in close consultation with the tournament organizer’s media team
Essential Skills/Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need:
> University Degree, preferably in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism
> Minimum five years experience in the public relations or media industry
> An exceptional grasp of writing press materials, including media releases and statements
> Competency in managing and nurturing strong media relationships
> Local market experience
> Arabic language capabilities a bonus
> Strong experience in running media events, journalist briefings, press conferences, etc
> High work ethic, committed to professional presentation, ethical practice and flexibility in the workplace
> Sports-related PR experience beneficial
