Senior Artist Booking Manager | The Fridge Dubai, UAE

This role is to oversee the Artist Booking area of the business. To ensure that the team is functioning smoothly and is motivated and successful. It is the central point of contact for Artists, Clients and The Fridge personnel. The Senior Artist Booking Manager has overall responsibility for delivering a successful event. All communication between The Fridge departments, Artists and the Client will be conducted through this person. They will be aware of the status of an artist booking at all stages of negotiation, liaison and set up.

The Fridge’s vision is to supply clients with talented musicians / dancers with a high level of creativity and production input. Customer service, attention to detail and thinking ‘out of the box’ are all paramount. The Account Manager is at the forefront of promoting this attitude to artists and clients alike.

Main responsibilities –

Structuring of Department

Meeting with the Director to discuss strategies, regular feedback on the status of the Department.

Meeting regularly with the Artist Booking Managers, ensuring a smooth and targeted running of the Department

Client Handling Aspects

Taking a full client brief, from initial telephone/email enquiry through to site visit.

Assessing whether the Director or Technical Support is required at a client meeting.

All client / artists liaison, meetings, correspondence, telephone contact.

Briefing, where necessary, Technical Support for creative/customised elements of a proposal.

Involvement in generation of creative solutions to meet a client’s brief.

Preparation of proposals using Powerpoint and other suitable software

Presentation of proposals to client including selling of creative elements and costings.

Negotiation and final closing of proposal with client.

Keeping the client informed at all stages of the booking process and obtaining client approvals and final sign off for a booking.

Project Management Aspects

Complete artist planning and management to contribute to a successful event.

Attendance at the start and end of an event and maintaining a presence on site during the event to ensure smooth communication between Client, Fridge site staff and Artists.

Liaison with and briefing of Technical Support and Artists with regard to sound check and the smooth running of the event on the night.

Management of and liaison with all sub contractors.

Responsibility for cost control.

Completion of all internal paperwork to ensure smooth running of office systems

Artist Management

Managing and developing Artists’ portfolios that are exclusive to The Fridge, i.e. pricing structure, goals, collaborations, etc.

Maximising work opportunities for said Artists, in the corporate arena as well as for concerts, festivals, workshops, studio work and education purposes, both in Dubai, the GCC and abroad.

Liaising media coverage in the form of photographs, video and press. The aim being to differentiate and promote the Artist.

Business Development and Marketing

To assist in the development and implementation of a Business Development and Marketing strategy.

To build relationships with new clients by introducing them to and educating them about The Fridge’s services.

Updating and maintaining contact tracking database.

Keeping existing clients abreast of new products and services

Skills

Skills and Competencies

- A natural flair for building relationships with people on every level.
- Highly organized.
- UAE based event experience essential.
- Excellent written English.
- Able to problem solve and respond to a constantly changing situation.
- Able to successfully assess how best to meet a client’s requirements within the parameters of what The Fridge and our suppliers can deliver.
- Great communication skills and an ability to think quickly and clearly under pressure.
- Willing attitude and a good sense of humour.
- Availability to work long hours is essential.

Technical

Computer literate, ability to use Word, Powerpoint and Excel. We are a MAC office.

Qualifications

5 years professional Event specialist experience
Keen understanding and broad knowledge of music
Driving license and own transport essential.
