Sports Business Unit Manager | Maktoob Amman

Main Responsibilities:
The BU Manager will manage all aspects of the Maktoob.com sports network. He/she will be directly accountable for audience and revenue growth for the Maktoob sports channel, and will lead new product initiatives related to the channels. The ideal candidate is both strategic and detail-oriented, has proven Web product management experience, and is equally comfortable working with editors, engineers and sales teams. The work environment is fast-paced and results driven.

Duties include however not limited to:
* Define and prioritize business requirements for new products and enhancements.
* Manage day-to-day operation, and set editorial direction and tone for sports content.
* Manage and grow the Maktoob sports forum community.
* Set product direction, working closely with creative and technical development team.
* Develop marketing and promotional plan to grow audience and expand user engagement.
* Propose and evaluate new product opportunities from audience, editorial and technology perspective.
* Work closely with technology and editorial teams to deliver compelling new products on time.
* Collaborate with Adv. sales, Adv. operations and Design on the definition of new products characteristics.
* Assist with documentation of product specifications and functional requirements.

Requirements:
* Extensive past experience defining product requirements for high traffic media websites.
* Passionate about online media & product development, strong familiarity with international and regional sports online media is an advantage.
* Strong command of English & Arabic.
* Experience undertaking a large site redesign initiative.
* Web development background is a major plus.
* Extensive usage of content (News, Data and Tools).
* Proven success leading cross-functional teams and product launches.
* Highly strategic as well as detail oriented.
