Technical Translator | Dubai, UAE

Leading international firm is wishing to recruit a Technical Translator for their Dubai office.

Your role will be to provide professional, reliable and accurate Arabic/English translations for the Intellectual Property team and wider casehandlers as required within the required timeframes. To provide overflow translation support to the translations department when they have capacity.

You will also provide language consultation to partners and/or casehandlers/fee earners.

You must have proven experience in a translation role ideally dealing with legal translation and it would be advantageous if you had a science degree or background.

Requirements
Specialist Chemistry/Biology/Science knowledge.
Good understanding of legal and technical translations with patent translations experience preferable.

Education / Qualification
- Degree or diploma
- Translation qualification(s)
- Scientific Degree/Masters advantageous

Languages
- Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English

Practical Experience
- Research skills.
- Experience in translating technical scientific terms/phrases/formulae relating to biology, chemistry and/or mathematics
- Legal experience preferred

Office Skills
- Arabic/English typing skills and computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of translation software such as SDL/Trados technologies

Commercial Skills
- Importance of commercial deadline
