Network bagged 5 Grand Prix, 11 Gold, 11 Silver and 13 Bronze
Beirut, Lebanon, 20 February 2014 – JWT made headlines recently at the MENA Cristal festival, dominating the handout of top honours on the night. An epic run of wins totaled 5 Grand Cristal (Grand Prix), 11 Cristal (Gold), 11 Sapphire (Silver) and 13 Emeralds (Bronze). The festival’s highest honour, the Festival Grand Cristal, was awarded by the jury’s unanimous vote to JWT Cairo for their Vodafone “Fakka” campaign.
Further accolades saw four more teams from across the MENA network up on stage to collect their trophies, which recognized 14 individual campaigns from 12 separate clients and spanned nine different awards’ categories. JWT Cairo went on to pick up a second coveted special award granted by the Leadership Council for its much loved “Adham’s Mum” campaign, again for Vodafone Egypt.
JWT Dubai’s award winning “Bookends” campaign for Kinokuniya was handed a highly praised Grand Cristal in Promo & Direct. The newest network team, JWT Doha, was quick to make their mark bagging the Grand Cristal in Print Craft for “Signatures”, a three-part campaign for Amnesty International. And the JWT Cairo team continued their roll collecting a third Grand Cristal during the evening, this time in Arabic Culture, again for their Vodafone “Fakka” campaign.
Other work that also won Cristal (gold) awards included JWT Riyadh’s “Little Space, Big Impact” campaign for SABB which picked up two accolades in the Media category for Banking and for Best Use of Screens. JWT Dubai’s high energy “LVL UP” campaign for Nike also bagged a Cristal in Media for Best Use of Events. Further prizes saw JWT scooping a total of 11 Sapphire (silver) awards. JWT Riyadh and JWT Doha led the field in the Outdoor category winning individual medals; JWT Riyadh and JWT Dubai dominated the Press category with their separate wins; JWT Dubai and JWT Beirut put on a strong performance in the Production category each picking up medals; and JWT Dubai brought special operations to product launches within the PR category, also winning a Sapphire.
