MENACOM contributes AED250,000 to ‘Dress One Million Needy Children’ Ramadan campaign

Dubai, UAE; July 17, 2013: MENACOM, the region’s leading communications conglomerate, today donated AED250,000 to the ‘Dress One Million Needy Children’ Ramadan campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Employees of MENACOM and its group companies in the UAE made individual donations that will help provide clothes for 6,250 children as part of the global campaign, which has received overwhelming support from all sections of the community.

Joseph Ghossoub, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MENACOM, said: “We are grateful to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed for launching this extraordinary initiative during the Holy Month of Ramadan. MENACOM’s employees have extended their whole-hearted support to the campaign in the spirit of generosity and solidarity that reflects the Holy Month. The campaign is a strong testament to the humanitarian values that UAE promotes by supporting the welfare of under privileged children around the world.”

All staff members of MENACOM and its group companies had the opportunity to take part in the path-breaking campaign through a centralised donation initiative. Simultaneously MENACOM Group also made a significant donation to make a total contribution of AED250,000.

MENACOM supports various charity initiatives throughout the year, and has earlier partnered on various initiatives launched by Dubai Cares, the philanthropic organisation working to improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries.
