Dubai, May 21, 2015: To mark the launch of its latest book, “Sentience: The coming AI revolution and the implication to marketers”, PHD will bring the inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, to discuss the subject on the main stage at the Cannes Lions Festival. The highly anticipated seminar is also in the running for the “Lions Live” competition, where people vote to choose one session per day to be streamed live on the festival’s YouTube channel. This is the very first time that Berners-Lee will discuss his views on artificial intelligence (AI).

The seminar will get festival delegates thinking about the far reaching and incredible potential of AI. This includes the road leading up to it, the risks and opportunities, the implications for marketing and how brands are likely to operate in this new world.

“This will be an exclusive conversation with one of the most momentous inventors of our time, featuring Sir Tim’s views on the topic of AI as well as its impact on technology and society,” commented Elda Choucair, managing director of PHD UAE. “It will be a valuable opportunity for everyone in the region and across the world to get to hear such a legendary innovator of our time. The coming of the AI revolution will also be the agenda of BrainScape, PHD UAE’s annual conference that explores the latest frontiers of the communications industry in the Middle East.”
