Product Placement Pioneer Leads the Way in Middle East in Conjunction with Rotana Audio Visual Group

Dubai-UAE: 04 December, 2011 – As the need for advertising ingenuity mounts upon the mobile phone industry, marketing departments are utilizing new media as well as traditional methods of communication to engage and grow their customer base.

Mobile phone vendor Sony Ericsson has been a global leader in exploiting new channels of communication. With a large footprint on social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter, Sony Ericsson ranks as the 40th most popular consumer brand on the world’s largest social networking site.

It is not just the potential of new media that Sony Ericsson harnesses to engage customers across the Middle East. The latest music video by Rotana Audio Visual Group for the Lebanese singer and pop icon Amal Hijazi features a number of Sony Ericsson products.

Hady Hajjar, Head of Marketing for Rotana Audio Visual Group in the Middle East, said: “Featuring Sony Ericsson products in our video marks a positive and refreshing break from tradition for us.”

Spyridon Gousetis, Head of Marketing, Sony Ericsson Middle East, said: “Sony Ericsson has a very successful track record when it comes to embedded marketing. We have been working with several partners and mobilizing this method of communication for many years and our products have featured in some of the most high profile films, computer games and music videos.
