The search is on for the Ultimate UAE Explorer
Explorer Publishing is searching for a Roving Reporter to make the Ultimate UAE Explorer. Through their campaign, UAE for FREE, they are looking to find one lucky winner whose social life will be transformed with meals in the best restaurants, stays at the most stylish hotels, tickets for the hottest events in town, indulgent spa treatments, tours and all manner of activities across the UAE – for them and a friend for a whole year. Plus they’ll also win a fully furnished luxury Bonnington apartment and a car for a year, Virgin Atlantic flights to London and New York or LA and an Adventure HQ shopping spree worth 50,000AED.
The competition is taking place over three stages. During the first stage of the competition, 100 lucky winners will win a free UAE based experience that could range from a free dinner, a free ticket to an event or a free activity. Winners will be asked to submit a simple 100 word review of their experience to progress to the next round of the competition. The 100 instant prize tickets are currently being given away through competitions running on Explorer’s website www.uaeforfree.com and the UAE for FREE Facebook page, Coast 103.2 FM, 104.8 Channel 4 FM, Healey’s Bar at Bonnington Jumeirah Lake Towers and Dubizzle.
Stage one will close on 24 March 2011 and Explorer will select 20 budding Explorers to progress to the semi-finals. They will also be issuing a limited number of ‘golden tickets’ for entry directly to the second stage of the competition during the following week. Each semi-finalist will win a camcorder and be asked to post a short video explaining why they think ought to be the Ultimate UAE Explorer. Once all 20 videos have been submitted to www.uaeforfree.com, members of the public will be invited to vote for five finalists to take part in the Ultimate Explorer Challenge Day – a race against the clock that will test finalists ability to explore like never before.
The winner of the Challenge Day will be crowned the Ultimate UAE Explorer. They will keep their day job but, as Explorer’s roving reporter, their leisure time will be transformed. They will also get their own weekly blog on the Explorer website and a column in Explorer’s Live Work Explore Magazine each month, where they will share their free experiences with Explorer’s readers.
