Advertising magazine jury names Austrian creative manager Rosa Kriesche

Vienna, 23rd January 2014 – Lürzer’s Archive, the world’s leading magazine for outstanding advertising, is pleased to announce the award of its coveted Berlin School of Creative Leadership scholarship to Austrian creative manager Rosa Kriesche. Like our previous winners, she will attend the internationally renowned institute specializing in leadership training for senior personnel and research into creative leadership. As the 2014 scholarship winner, Kriesche will also receive funding amounting to €20,000 from Lürzer’s Archive, enabling her to enroll in the Executive MBA in Creative Leadership program commencing on March 16, 2014 in Berlin.

The jury was impressed by the quite exceptional talents exhibited by Rosa Kriesche in the shape of the creative ideas she submitted on possible future changes to the content and design of Lürzer’s Archive. Similarly, the jury was no less impressed by her professional track record to date. After studying at Vienna’s university of business and economics (“Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien”), majoring in Retail, Marketing, Advertising and Market Research, Ms. Kriesche began her career in 2006 at media agency OMD, where, after stints in Vienna and Los Angeles, she was promoted to the post of Strategy Supervisor. In 2011, she switched to the Vienna office of international communications agency Draftfcb, being appointed Head of Strategy & New Business. In October 2013, Kriesche branched out on her own, setting up the Vienna-based agency BRANDDATA, a vehicle designed to unite the disciplines of branding and market research.

This combination of practical experience and research is, in fact, a recurrent theme throughout the entire career of 34-year-old Kriesche. Since October 2013, she has also been lecturing on the psychology of advertising at the University of St. Pölten. Her academic credentials were a key factor guiding our decision to award the scholarship to Ms. Kriesche.

“We are convinced that, in awarding the 2014 scholarship to Rosa Kriesche, we have made a good choice. Ms. Kriesche considers it very important to draw on both academic and research findings in her day-to-day work, using these scientific insights to formulate new approaches and strategies for the creative industry. As such, she ticks all the boxes in our scholarship profile. We very much hope that the content of her study program will serve to enrich her experience still further and wish her an exciting time and continued success in her career,” stated Christian Lürzer, CEO of Lürzer’s Archive and himself a graduate of the MBA program at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

“I am very much looking forward to the study program and would like to express my thanks to Lürzer’s Archive for this fantastic opportunity. With the creative industry changing ever more rapidly, there is as yet no telling in which direction some things will be moving. By founding the agency BRANDDATA I want to shape this change in a positive way. I therefore hope that the master program at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership will be a source of countless new ideas and insights, and am keen to enter into an inspiring exchange of views with other leading figures from the creative business,” said Rosa Kriesche.

Creative progression was a major consideration for Lürzer’s Archive, too, in the award of the scholarship: “We invited applicants to submit ideas on the future development of Lürzer’s Archive. And this process yielded numerous ideas and suggestions that will help us improve both the content and reader perceptions of our magazine still further,” commented Christian Lürzer.

Commencing on March 16, 2014 in Berlin, the master program comprises five two-week modules taking place in Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, and Berkeley. The course can be completed in a period of between 12 and 24 months.

This marks the fourth time that Lürzer’s Archive has awarded the international scholarship for the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. The first winner – in 2010 – was Karen Cesar from Rio de Janeiro, founder and CEO of Red Bandana Design. The 2011 award went to Japanese creative director Midori Ikematsu, and last year’s winner was Christina Stocker, Senior Conceptioner at Hubert Burda Media.
