Kodak the world’s foremost imaging innovator, has launched its social media platform targeting the Middle East consumers through dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages.
To celebrate the launch, Facebook ‘fans’ are invited to ‘Share their summer’ by submitting their favourite personal photographs, then inviting their friends and family to view and vote for them in a ‘ Put Yourself in The Frame’ competition open to all and win the revolutionary Kodak Pulse wifi frame.
Kodak’s new Facebook page, only launched last week, is already attracting hundreds of fans, while the range of photographic entries demonstrates the way in which photos can bring people together irrespective of distance.
Facebook has over 500 million registered users worldwide, and is very popular in the Middle East with over 1.6 million users in the UAE alone.
Kodak provides a range of products that fit the lifestyle of an average Facebook user. New features such as the ‘share’ button ensure that photographs and videos can be uploaded or emailed to social media accounts and sites directly from any of Kodak’s new digital product range of cameras, frames and pocket video cameras.
“Kodak’s continued focus on ‘sharing’ throughout its history makes it the perfect match for social networking. The increasing use of social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter for sharing photographs, video clips and events cannot be ignored. Kodak aims to provide tools that make this new technology even easier to use. The one button upload feature of the Kodak Share button in all our latest products is guaranteed to appeal to social media users in the Middle East and around the world.
We are delighted with the response our new Facebook page has had in such a short period of time. It’s great to see so many enthusiastic fans come together and to feel proud of their special captured moments through the appreciation of others. We will continue to give Kodak ME fans even more special offers, photo tips and chances to win as our fan base continues to increase,” said Arif Khan, Area Manager for Kodak for the Middle East region.
