Dubai, UAE, 02 May 2012: Canon Middle East, the world leader in imaging solutions, is hosting a presentation of the latest range of camcorders in its portfolio for some of the leading video and photography specialists based in Dubai Media City. The event, which is taking place on Thursday, 3rd of May at the One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel, will showcase Canon’s latest range of solutions for the media industry, specifically its professional video camcorders and DLSRs, which are aimed at production houses, broadcasting companies, and advertising agencies. The Canon Pro Seminar is supported by Dubai Internet City and Dubai Studio City

Jamal Al Sharif, Managing Director, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Media City, TECOM Investments, said: “The TECOM Media Cluster has successfully created an enabling environment for media production companies, offering them access to world-class infrastructure that services their needs. It is important for these businesses and professionals to keep up with latest technology trends in the industry. In order to facilitate this further, we are happy to support the Canon Pro Seminar and hope the creative media minds will benefit from the new products and technology that the event showcases.”

“Professional photographers, filmmakers and creative industries rely on Canon as the industry standard for image excellence. We understand their need for cutting-edge and reliable camcorders and photographic equipment to produce the great work that they do; and we are happy to show them how Canon can further enhance and materialize their creative concepts,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East.

Canon’s showcase comes as it celebrates its first foray into mainstream filmmaking industry with the EOS C300. With its modular, portable and adaptable system of cameras, lenses and accessories built specially for moviemaking in the digital age, the EOS C300 perfectly meets demanding requirements of broadcast and film industry professionals. Other products on show include the XF305, one of Canon’s first file-based professional camcorders, which allows full-length filming with the least interruption, and flexible editing.

Another highlight is the showcase of the flagship model in Canon’s DSLR EOS range – the 1DX, which provides sharp, low-noise images even in the dimmest low-light conditions; as well as the 5D Mark III, which is ideal for shooting elaborate indoor or outdoor scenes such as a wedding, and is also great for still photography.
