About the Job:
We currently have a vacancy for a Communication and Interior Design Manager to join our IKEA team in the Dubai Festival City store. In this role:
- Support the Showroom Sales Manager, Market hall Sales Manager and IKEA Food & Beverage manager with expertise to secure that the commercial level regarding range presentation and visual merchandising in the store is optimised and that there is a common thread throughout the store
- Responsible to ensure that time plans and budgets set by the Store Manager are followed for all work related to changing and updating all areas of the IKEA store in sync with the Commercial Calendar
- Develop and implement the annual business plan with the store management team in regards to your own department and areas of responsibility.
- Work with Com&In Manager in the Service Office to plan and organise marketing activities related to the commercial calendar.
- Accountable for the salary costs for the Com&In department as set in the budget by the Store Manager.
- Ensure that the IKEA store provides a vibrant and exciting atmosphere that ensures customers come back.
- Ensure that all the Com&In team that build up range presentations using store equipment and racking as well as lighting fixtures have received proper education in safety and security aspects related to the use of this equipment so they are able to follow the rules and regulations and prevent accidents.
- Ensure the competence development and training for the co workers in the Com&In department.
- Have all co-workers properly trained including development programs to secure the store performance and succession needs.
- Ensure that systems and methods stated in IKEA Concept Documentation are implemented throughout the whole store.
- Plan and lead major changes in the store including building up new room sets, new homes, new departments.
Skills
About You:
The ideal candidate:
- High School/Trade School Graduate.
- 5 years interior design/visual merchandising experience in or outside IKEA.
- Highly developed knowledge of home furnishings and the way people live.
- Project management experience.
- Store layout planning experience.
- Strategic Planning and Analytical Skills, Effective Communication, Excel competence.
- Behavioral competences: Interpersonal Skills, Business Acumen, Problem Solving, Confident, Leadership Skills and Strategic Thinking.
