The 7th edition of the Dubai International Print Award, honouring talent, innovation and excellence in the regional printing industry, has this year received a record number of entries from eight countries.

A total of eight international jury members will be in Dubai to judge and award this year’s entries. Heading up the jury is an international panel with decades of combined experience in the industry. They include Mr. Nicholas R. Jung, Consultant in Printing Technology and Education; Mr. Karl Kowalczyk, Consultant, Printing Technology (Germany); Mr. Daniel Siegel, UPM Kymmene Sales GMBH, Senior Manager Technical Sales Central Europe; Mr. Hemant Ranadive, FCBULKA India, General Manager, Production Services; Dr. Eduard Neufeld Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association, Institute Director and Dr. Saad Aldossary, Consultant and Trainer of Printing Technology (KSA). A record number of entries have been received from the 26 categories available, including entries for the new Flat Bed Digital Inkjet category, which focuses on the POSM free standing unit, from companies in locations as far afield as Lebanon and the Levant.

“We’ve now passed the deadline for entries and we’ve had record number of participants. The high demand in participation in the Awards is further proof of that DIPA has become the premier platform for recognising excellence in the industry,” said Mr. Mazen Haj, Chairman of the Printing and Publishing Group.

“This will make judging even tougher this year, with such a high level of competition between the entrants, and the standard of entries all vying for one of the most prestigious printing titles in the region, being exceptionally high. We’re pleased to have a number of new entries joining the Awards event this year and we’ve seen a wide range of innovative nominations,” Mr. Mazen Haj concluded.

DIPA is taking place at the Madinat Jumeirah (Johara Ballroom) on April 9, where professionals from the region’s printing and publishing industry are set to flock. The organizers of DIPA saw more than 900 award entries last year, received from eight countries, but 2013 is set to be the most competitive DIPA yet.
