Job Description

Job Purpose:
This position is responsible to produce art layouts and designs for products, packaging, marketing collateral, and merchandising.

Key Result Areas:
1) Translate creative concepts into effective visual presentations, products, collateral and merchandising that fulfill strategic marketing objectives
2) Responsible for image research of all collateral or merchandise
3) Coordinate with other designers, art directors and the entire production process for the marketing collateral and merchandise
4) Create mock-ups and other 3 dimensional products for high level presentation
5) Forecast project requirements for the translation and production of creative concepts into merchandise
6) Provide both verbal and written creative direction to internal (Marketing, Materials & Contracts) and external resources (other designers, printers, studio managers, art directors, photographers, etc.)
7) Approve design layouts and final artworks and colour separations (films) before printing.

♣ Interiors
♣ Photo Shop 3D Max
♣ Illustrator and Auto CAD
♣ Corel Draw
Qualifications and Education:
♣ B.A or B.F.A from an accredited design institution

Experience:
♣ Demonstrated ability to translate concepts into effective visual presentations, products, collaterals and merchandizing that fulfill strategic marketing objectives.
♣ Basic process and design project management skills including assisting in defining project scope, budget, and schedules necessary to complete projects in a timely manner.
♣ Working knowledge of pre-press or 4-colour printing including colour and file preparation to achieve the desired outcome for the product.
♣ Basic understanding of competitive design trends that are translated into the product development process
♣ Strong design portfolio and references
♣ 1-2 years experience in the graphic design/communications field.

Knowledge:
♣ Strong knowledge of Quart Xpress, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and basic knowledge of Microsoft office
♣ Package design knowledge is an advantage.
