Executive Producer | Al Jazeera Children’s Channel Doha, Qatar

JOB OBJECTIVE:
? To be responsible for developing and managing the production of series of high quality programmes for all JCC Channels. For example a Series is all the programmes in the Ad Darb or Allo Marhaba series.
? To take responsibility for the editorial content, and the creative look and feel of a number of productions or series assigned to them.
? To take overall responsibility for delivering all series to budget and for ensuring financial controls are in place.
? To generate and develop new and innovative programme ideas that appeal to the Commissioners.
? To build an effective team with the skills to deliver high quality content for all JCC Channels, developing new talent where necessary.
? To understand the target audiences of JCC and the commissioning requirements of the individual channels and be constantly looking for ways to satisfy those demands.
? To understand the strategy and values of JCC.

Minimum Qualifications:
? At least 5 years experience as a Senior Producer in children’s programmes or a related genre.
? Fluent in Arabic and English with a good knowledge of Classical Arabic

Minimum Experience:
? Significant experience in leading and managing programme teams and working across a diverse range of output.
? Significant experience at Producer level, including directing.
? Extensive experience of making judgements on matters of editorial sensitivity.
? Sound knowledge of editorial and commissioning processes, Editorial Guidelines, and regulations relevant to programme making e.g. artists’ rights; copyright; insurance requirements
? A proven track record in devising new ideas and increasing the output..
? Thorough knowledge and experience of the legal dimension of contractual agreements and corporate agreements as they affect production.

Skills
? Strong, senior editorial judgement and extensive practical knowledge of television production and direction gained from a number of years of hands-on experience.
? Demonstrable creative skills
? Experience of applying legal and editorial guidelines as they relate to content creation.
? Ability to develop and implement the editorial strategy for both JCC and Baraem and which fulfils the requirements of the JCC business portfolio
? Excellent evaluation and negotiation skills.
? An effective and inspiring communicator, able to enthuse and engage programme makers in developing and delivering programming propositions.
? Thorough understanding of broader business issues and the media environment
? Able to present information effectively at all levels in the organisation.
