Group PR Account Director | Kuwait
PR — By Samer Marzouq on April 14, 2010 at 6:17 amAs a senior member of this regional team you will handle the day-to-day management of the Kuwait office. You will have line management responsibility and handle all client relationships at the senior end. There is a certain level of administration attached to this role because, as well as the client work, you will also need to build a rapport with the Kuwait sponsor and liaise with the local authorities. This office is part of a large GCC-wide network; however the Kuwait office is unusual in that it is almost entirely staffed by Arab nationals.
Requirements
They require leadership and motivation, facets that are crucial in this role. You should be a very well-rounded and experienced agency practitioner, conversant in capacity planning, revenue forecasting and proposal development. You should be able to instill a strong client service ethos in the team and, reporting to the Kuwait / Qatar GM, you will work hard to broaden the service offering in the Kuwait market. Clearly in a role of this nature it would be beneficial for you to have experience of an Arab environment, preferably in the Gulf; however this is not necessarily a prerequisite. If you are a strong, thick-skinned practitioner who learns quickly, you should apply. Our client is perfectly happy to hire a Westerner who does not have Gulf experience, but you should be aware that it is a steep curve. As well as all of the above, this role demands all of the usual high-calibre Western traits of attention to detail, confidence, strong English writing skills and a proven track record of client servicing, business development and presenting.
