Media Relations Officer | Emirates Airline & Group

Temporary placement – to be eligible to apply you must be available in Dubai for an interview and have your own work visa/sponsorship arranged.

The Position:
- Research and gather information about new developments and achievements of the company in order to receive good coverage in the targeted media
- Write articles for internal publications, regularly informing employees about new developments, rules and regulations within the Company
Write articles for external publications, when required, to ensure Emirates Group receives the best possible coverage
- Assist the Media Relations Manager in preparing and handling itineraries of journalists visiting Dubai, in order to best present Emirates Group’s image and thus achieve maximum coverage in the targeted media
Respond to inquiries from the media with carefully researched and approved information according to corporate policy, in order to maintain consistency of information provided
- Co-ordinate with relevant parties, be present at interviews to journalists and, on occasion, direct photography activity to ensure the interests in operations of the Emirates group are maintained as well as enhancing media coverage
- Co-ordinate with Media Relations Manager when arranging visits of journalists

Experience and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in a related field
- Minimum 5 years working experience as a journalist (sub-editor), handling sports and business stories for a recognised newspaper
- Excellent communication skills, both in written and spoken English, any other languages would be an advantage
- Must have good knowledge of the airline industry, sports events and Arab cultures etc
- The ability to handle several diverse projects concurrently and independently is critical
- Strong interpersonal skills and friendly demeanor
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
