Prague, 15.5.2012 – The public “Slogan for Prague” competition was initiated by the advertising festival PIAF. PIAF’s international jury evaluated a total of 252 entries from 31 countries. The winning slogan was „Dear Prague,..“. The jury did not judge the slogan‘s graphic design but rather its wording which paraphrased the letter’s salutation or its confidential andintimate relationship with the addressee (Prague).
“Prague has no official slogan until now. We contacted the professional international public surrounding our festival. We received many very interesting professional entries with instructions as well as many amateur attempts,” said Marek Hlavica, Prague International Advertising Festival’s Managing Director. A jury comprised of top level international experts from advertising and marketing shortlisted 6 entries and chose the winner. The view of an international creative jury was very important in our opinion as they are the ones who interpret the slogan through the eyes of its target group.
“We will hand over all entries to the Prague City Hall. If any of the entries were interesting to them, they can contact the author and begin to cooperate. Our competition is not binding for the City of Prague in any way,” adds Hlavica. The only requirement was a weekend in Prague for the winner. The winner of our competition is Jakub Vysloužil from Hradce Králové. The other shortlisted workcame from Italy, The Netherlands, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Portugal. See the finalists here.
