PR Manager | Fly Dubai UAE

Job Purpose
To manage all flydubai’s Arabic PR activities in the UAE and the Arabic markets in which flydubai operates. Working closely with and under the supervision of the PR Manager to ensure a consistent and strategic approach is taken across all markets. To ensure opportunities are maximised and generated to secure the best possible awareness of flydubai.

Job Outline
Manage the PR agencies in the Arabic markets, ensure they maintain consistent and approved messages in line with the Corporate PR goals and deliver good value for money. Build and maintain strong relationships with the Arabic media in the UAE and the markets. Develop, manage and supervise media FAM trips into Dubai and outbound into the markets. Respond to media enquiries in a timely fashion, with properly researched and approved material, ensuring the Corporate PR messaging is maintained. Arrange and escort interviews given by senior flydubai executives. Proactively develop PR strategies and ideas that will generate media coverage and awareness of flydubai in the UAE and the markets. Effectively translate written and spoken English material into Arabic. Assist the PR Manager with activities in English speaking markets and Corporate PR work as required. Address a press conference of 50+ people when required.

Critical Competencies
• Advanced level written and spoken Arabic.
• A high level of competency in both written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• The ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously and to respond to very tight deadlines.
• To be able to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant attitude.
• To work effectively without the need for close supervision.
• Creativity.

Qualifications
A university degree in public relations, Journalism or a related discipline

Experience
7+ years experience in Journalism and/or public relations with 2+ years in a similar role. Previous experience in the aviation or travel industries would be an advantage but is not essential. Previous experience of crisis communications would also be an advantage but is not essential. Essential to this role is experience of managing local and national press relations and taking a lead role in press conferences and associated events.
