Qtel appoints Leo Burnett Doha to handle its creative account for both their Corporate and Consumer services

Qatar’s telecommunications provider, Qtel has appointed Leo Burnett Doha to handle its creative account for both their Corporate and Consumer services. Burnett will provide fully integrated services which will include communication management, strategic brand planning, creative development, 360° implementation and digital capabilities.

In addition Leo Burnett Jordan, chosen as a strategic partner for Qtel International in May 2010 provides communication services to Qtel International, which works to coordinate operations across the Qtel Group.

Qtel selected the services of Leo Burnett after an exhaustive review process designed to find the ideal blend of international experience and talent that was rooted in the realities of the fast-growing Qatar market.

In particular, the company looked for an agency that demonstrated a full understanding of the importance of a mutually-defined partnership, and which could support Qtel’s goal to be the preferred provider of world-class communication services in Qatar.

At the end of a search process that interviewed multiple agencies from around the world – many of them leaders in their respective markets – Leo Burnett was chosen as the partner of record to help support Qtel’s long-term marketing goals.

Said Kamal Dimachkie, Regional Managing Director, Leo Burnett UAE, Kuwait & Lower Gulf, ” Qtel has built a very solid and successful brand, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to help shape its future. This win is indicative of Leo Burnett’s ability to understand and provide solutions to serious telco operators who are keen for a communications group to help them engage with people. We are eager to put our experience, learning and tools at their disposal to give them an unfair competitive advantage wherever they may need us.”

Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director, Group Communications, said: “Qtel is constantly looking to raise the bar and deliver a higher level of excellence in all our activities, and we particularly wanted to move into a broader, more ambitious era for our advertising. Leo Burnett’s experience and reputation for out-of-the-box thinking will help contribute to Qtel’s wider goal of providing unique human experiences every time a customer uses our services.”

Leo Burnett is currently working with Qtel on developing work for Ramadan.
