Augmented Reality in Medical Demonstration

I’m fascinated by Augmented Reality and I always follow the latest executions, here is one done by ARworks for Top Gear Promotions in Dubai, it’s a Medical Demonstration that shows a 3D eye that is being operated on with a syringe, think of that as an education tool in schools and universities, impressive!

ARworks prepared an extraordinary, scientific Augmented Reality application for Top Gear Promotions (UAE) to demonstrate the working of Rabinizumab, an eye medicament developed which cures ceratin kind of eye disfunction. The standalone application, which can run on iOS and Android platform is made specially for eye professionals who, thanks to AR, will see in a virtual, full 3 dimensional view, how the syringe enters the eye, the medicament comes out of it and heals the root of illness.
A special image, a marker is needed to be able to see, walk around or zoom in in this holographic, AR model of the eye – first its full, then half of it disappears, we can see the effects of the eye disorder, then comes the syringe, with the fluid entering the eye in 3d, then the healing, and finally just bringing bakc the full, healthy eye.
The animation can be played continouously or step by step depending on the purpose of the presentation.

Apart from the now regular use of AR in marketing campaigns, or for example in treasure hunts, this type of solution where AR makes it possible to show otherwise inpossible objects and processes in a more serious way will be more and more popular on the market.

The solution was made with Unity, and the Qualcomm AR plug in, within 2 weeks, for TGP (Top Gear Promotion), one of the biggest event and exhibition management company in the Emirates.
