Communications Officer | EPFL Middle East Ras-al-Khaimah, UAE
The Role
The Communications Officer oversees all internal and external communications/publications of EPFL Middle East including but not limited to Press Releases, Events, Newsletters etc. The Communications Officer has also the responsibility of managing online publications, website maintenance, social networking and new communications initiatives. She/He works closely with the Communications Team of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and reports directly to the Dean.
This position requires excellent knowledge of the UAE / Middle East market and network.
Key deliverables:
Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies for EPFL Middle East in coordination and collaboration with EPFL;
Plan and maintain current roadmap for all communications needs of EPFL Middle East and adequate branding of EPFL ME in the ME, North Africa and Asia regions;
Contribute to all communication aspects of EPFL Middle East including notably: web, media relations, networks, appropriate social virtual networks;
Establish and manage corresponding budgets for marketing and communications activities;
Manage all informative internal communications;
Develop and ensure distribution of newsletter and other communication instruments;
Conduct market research as needed;
Oversee, coordinate and manage events (e.g. Conferences, visits, PR);
Develop annual and long-range communications strategies.

EPFL Middle East is a pioneering research center based in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE which converges graduate and postgraduate research in the field of Energy and sustainability. EPFL Middle East was created under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al Khaimah, and was inaugurated along with the then President of the Swiss Federal Government, His Excellency Mr. Pascal Couchepin in May 2009.
