The Role
Overview
This Multinational FMCG company are looking for a Corporate Affairs Specialist to further drive internal and external communications across the MENA region.
Key accountabilities include:
• Manage the MENA intranet site through uploading its content and updating it regularly, and develop and oversee social media communication.
• Development and execution of internal communications in the Dubai-based Business Units (BUs) and ensuring effective co-ordination with other functions.
• Support the Corporate Affairs Director for the MENA region in representing the brand as spokesperson or where relevant, in ensuring that correct spokespeople are put forward.
• Support initiatives to gain favorable publicity for brands through supporting the Corporate Affairs Director MENA and working the PR agency. Offer proposals on proactive Brand PR opportunities for major brands and categories.
• Internal Communication Coordination: coordination with the different BUs in the MENA area to ensure synergy, coherence and consistency of internal communication messaging across MENA
• Issues Management & Government Relations: Assist in the execution of projects and programs to build relations with governments and NGOs
Requirements
The ideal candidate:
• Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science or relevant field.
• Minimum 3/4 years of relevant work experience, including media writing, PR agency work or copy writing.
• Media training – preferable but not required.
• Website Management Experience (Share Point Team Site knowledge is preferable).
• Advanced computer applications and electronic communication knowledge.
• Understanding of social media (related work experience will be an asset).
• Preferably also international experience.
• Flexible, good interpersonal skills and building relationships.
• Handles complexity, comfortable with ambiguity.
• Calm when under pressure.
• Skilled in organizational communication and providing leaders and managers with communication skills counsel
• Strategic and analytical capabilities
• Fluent in English and Arabic, with excellent writing skills in both languages
