Direct Sales Team Manager (Bahrain) | HSBC Bahrain
The purpose of the role is to direct, lead and motivate a team of sales staff in the acquisition of quality business to meet strategic / operating plan objectives and to maximize profitability.
Principal Accountabilities
Lead and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed product targets.
Coach staff & identify training needs
Increase acquisition of business from AEL companies
Ensure professional standards are maintained
Create a sales culture
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
Major Challenges
With increase in targets and with 5 core products, the challenge initially will be to ensure that the sales gain momentum as the team goes through this concentrated period of change. This year our major challenge will be to guide and monitor the Direct Sales Team closely, to coach and develop the team to improve performance, to ensure that sales targets are being met and to manage the team through challenging market conditions.
Role Context
The job holder is expected to monitor business development activity and review company performance (under all categories) complied by all the concerned stakeholders; at the same time ensuring that quality companies are acquired to the Approved Employers List
The job holder will need to keep abreast of the changing market conditions in the region and be able to identify opportunities where sales can be maximized in a competitive environment
The job holder needs to maintain high levels of synergy with all internal channels i.e. Retail Banking and Corporate Banking, develop referral processes and build relationships to create opportunities for developing HSBC business within that network
Skills
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Knowdledge of full suite of Retail Banking and Wealth Management Products, services, procedures and credit policy
The ability to present to director-level executives
Fluent spoken and written communication in English (secondary language would be an asset)
Front line sales experience
Motivational, leadership and sales management skills in addition to activity creation and networking skills (both internally and externally)
A track record of personal success in previous roles
