Media — By Samer Marzouq on August 4, 2008 at 2:26 pmOur client, a non-profit sole proprietary organization based in Abu Dhabi is urgently seeking to recruit a Films Editor to join their multicultural team in Abu Dhabi.
Reporting directly to the Director, your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:-
Create and maintain archive database and storage solution for all recorded material.
Ensures that the material produced meets technical and aesthetic requirements for editing.
Produce finalized projects on various media platforms such as DV/Cam, HDV, DVD, Web video Etc.
Handle basic production tasks (under guidance Producer) such as filling, accounting, bookkeeping, research, etc;
Excel in the editing of recorded projects on non-linear Mac based editing systems and log and capture all Films video footage;
Editing of material with attention to the style, pace, tempo and format of the project/production and handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment;
Work in a proficient, timely manner to meet all production deadlines, provide Films Director with feedback to concerning the project edits, as well as may be required to set-up lighting, operate camera and other production;
Able to visually capture story concepts through the creative use of professional video/film camera and editing techniques;
Proficiency with a non-linear editing system such as Final Cut Pro (preferred), Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, as well an understanding of editing theory required;
Ability to understand and work with various video input formats, and to output video to pre-established encoding specifications;
Ability to participate in a highly creative and collaborative team as well as manage others and able to oversee and handle projects assigned to them with little or no supervision.
Skills
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years experience in filmmaking and proficient with FCP, Soundtrack Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Motion, and Apple Logic Pro must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and excellent project management skills and attention to detail with strong problem storytelling skills are required.
Able to draw life and emotion out of on screen characters and willing to do whatever is required to get the job done in a professional manner as well as willing to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime and weekends as required. Positive attitude is essential
