Purpose
The position of Coordinator, International Marketing is a key customer service position for the University. The position exists to provide accurate and timely information to prospective international students and to increase the conversion of international students to UOWD programs. The position requires the provision of superior customer service in a multi-cultural environment.

Organisational Context
The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is the first foreign University to be accredited in the UAE and has been operating since 1993. It is an associated entity of the Illawarra Technology Corporation (ITC) which itself is an unlisted public subsidiary of the University of Wollongong (UOW), established in 1981 as part of the University’s strategy to expand its commercial capabilities. ITC has an independent Board with the Shareholder holding a director’s position.
The University of Wollongong in Dubai has its own Charter with a separately constituted Board of Trustees and Academic Board to ensure high standards of education and corporate governance consistent with the expectations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. UOWD courses and subjects are accredited by the Ministry for Higher Education and Scientific Research, through the Ministry’s Commission for Academic Accreditation.
The position exists within Marketing & External Relations department, which is responsible for execution of the University’s International Marketing and Student Recruitment Strategy.
The position is based at the Knowledge Village Campus, Dubai.

Principal Accountabilities
-Assist Manager, Marketing & External Relations to develop an annual International Marketing Strategy and Student Recruitment plan;
- Develop key targeted relationship management plans/tactics in conjunction with Admissions;
- Counsel, assess situations and develop solutions to meet the needs of prospective international students and key stake holders for the effective management of long-term relationships with the University’s international customers;
- Develop a network of contacts both on and off campus to maintain long-term relationships;
- Liaise with UOWD’s overseas agents and monitor their performance on a regular basis;
- Coordinate, plan, allocate budgets and attend international student recruitment events as required;
- Promote the products and services of the University with enthusiasm and integrity;
- Provide feedback on marketing campaigns and identify students’ needs;
- Undertake overseas travel as required;
- Participate in a continuous process to monitor, evaluate and develop performance;
- Develop a series of metrics with reference to the success or otherwise of various international marketing initiatives, monitor activities and provide statistics on international student recruitment on a regular basis;
- Other duties as deemed appropriate for this position
Reporting Relationships
The Coordinator, International Marketing will report to the Manager, Marketing & External Relations.

Qualifications Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in a Sales/Marketing or a Customer Service related field is essential. Postgraduate qualifications in a similar area is highly desirable.

Essential:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and an understanding of cross-cultural communication;
- Ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of clients in an enthusiastic and highly professional manner;
- Be able to speak clearly, persuasively and authoritatively;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- Ability to adapt quickly to change;
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to cope with high volume workloads;
- Good computer skills including experience with the use of email, word processing and spreadsheet programs with the ability to adapt quickly to new software;
- Proficiency in electronic marketing and IT skills;
- Commitment to quality;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to understand and appreciate best practice;
- Flexible attitude to working hours and willingness to travel overseas on a regular basis.

Desirable:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, along with a commitment to the provision of superior customer service;
- Previous sales experience and knowledge of marketing principles;
- Familiarity with the various education systems in the region;
- Thorough knowledge of UOWD courses and facilities;
- Commitment to and knowledge of the benefits of UOWD;
- Ability to promote UOWD products and services at international marketing events;
- Ability to communicate in other languages.(Hindi, Urdu and Farsi)
