Senior Marketing Advisor | Doha

The successful candidate will Provide timely Regulatory expertise and reports to the Marketing Managers and negotiation teams during market development, negotiations and optimisation efforts. Monitor, identify and report all potential regulatory risks that relate to commercial marketing activities, opportunities, price re-openers and contract developments which are associated with LNG markets. Co-ordinate effective representation at significant and relevant external and internal meetings to maximise the companies regulatory understanding and influence, in order to realise full commercial advantage for the company.

Lead, as and when directed, designated interactions with regulatory bodies on new or existing activities.
Monitor and act as a source of reference on regulatory developments, license and competition initiatives, which affect the companies LNG marketing activities.
Advise senior management and key staff of portfolio exposures arising from potential changes to market trading arrangements
Report to key internal stakeholders the likely impact of commercial and operational impacts of changes which relate to the activities of LNG marketing in liquid gas markets
Proactively respond to market modifications and propose alternative arrangements in line with the company’s strategy to maximise revenue
Brief senior executives on regulatory environment prior to high-level engagement to ensure the views of the marketing teams are effectively communicated to external parties.
Credibly and effectively represent, when directed, the views of internal stakeholders to relevant external parties to ensure that potentially (un)desirable effects of proposed change are well understood.
Through external forums and working relationships provide the company with information on competitor’s regulatory views/positions and seek alliances, as directed.
Provide guidance and insight to promote regulatory understanding amongst fellow marketing support team members
Monitor and support the regulatory views of RasGas to relevant Govt. and Regulatory Authorities to ensure regulatory developments are in line with the companies objectives
Understanding and appreciation of business practice and protocols when dealing with diverse cultures and nationalities.
Internally operates as the key focal point on regulatory arrangements and the key provider of unambiguous advice on regulatory and competition compliance.
Some international travel required
Regular contact with Marketing Managers, negotiation teams and 3rd party contacts
Incumbent will achieve end results in an environment requiring advanced negotiation and decision making skills.
Strategic understanding of the global LNG Marketing trade.
Forward thinking is critical to understanding the impact of regulatory developments within the destination markets and upon the company.
Excellent verbal, written and persuasion skill are a must.
Decision making authority and responsibility

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Engineering
MBA or M.Sc. in Economics is an advantage
Minimum of 10 years professional experience preferably gained within an energy major or consultancy.
commercial and analytical/evaluative skills
Excellent understanding of market rules and mechanisms (codes, licenses, regulation, legislation, competitors, European & US perspective)
Strong rapport building and leadership skills.
