KLM: Claim your place in Space
Ever wanted to go to Space? Unless you are called Felix Baumgartner or a billionaire, there is no chance you will be able to do that.
Thanks to KLM, your dream may be reality, with its brand new campaign, called ‘Claim your place in Space’. (http://space.klm.com/ )
On April, 22nd, the aircraft will send a high altitude balloon from the Nevada desert in the US. It will be loaded with cameras and a GPS to monitor its progression. As the ballon goes up, it will eventually pop with the pressure and fall down to Earth with a parachute.
Before the launch, people will be able to predict online where the balloon will reach its highest point.
The most accurate prediction will win a flight for two to Curacao, a stay at a luxury hotel and a spaceflight for one aboard the SXC Lynx spaceship.
The campaign is from Rapp/DDB and Tribal Amsterdam and MediaMonks. The website is already live and you can submit your best prediction.
Surfing from the fantastic success of Red Bull Stratos, this campaign is well crafted and hits the right spot.
The only drawback of this experience is that the website is built using Flash…who still uses Flash??
