Basic Function & Scope
- Seeks upon instruction and guidelines, news from variety of set sources such as News Agencies, Internet, Newspapers etc.
- Categorizes, copy, paste and edit according to instructions, supervision of the Sr. Editor.
- Translates as requested and needed.
- Transcribes and edits the News on the SMS (Short Message Service) for review of the Sr. Editor.
Task & Duties
- Assists in the training of the Associate Editors and submits reports on their progress.
- Reviews as per instructions and seeks News from News agencies, internet and Newspapers according to the approved info tracker categorization system. Copies the New items after discussing & coordinating with the Sr. Editor.
- Translates the Arabic News into English as needed.
- Paste the selected news items using the approved computer data base system.
- Edits the selected news items complying with the Sr. Editor guidelines, International standards, provided official guidelines.
- Transfers and pastes the Edited news including the headlines.
- Re-edits the News items to comply with the limitations of the SMS (Short Message Service) system maintaining proper filing systems for the work in progress and final.
- Submits the works to the Sr. Editor for review and approval prior final submittal to the Managing Editor.
- Follows and complies with established work procedures including compliance with the general quality requirements and the approved company quality system.
- Performs other related tasks & duties requested by the Sr. programmer or the Chief Executive Officer.
Skills
• Excellent Command of English AND Arabic is a must
• Excellent Writing and Composition Skills
• Computer and Internet Literacy
• Journalistic experience required : more than 3 years
