Over 33,000 UAE Residents Visit the 25th Annual Pedigree® & Whiskas® Dubai Pet Show

Fun-filled schedule included UAE Police display, fancy dress competitions and best in breed categories

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 9th February 2012 – The 25th anniversary of the Pedigree® & Whiskas® Dubai Pet Show, held yesterday on Friday 8th February at the Dubai Rugby Sevens stadium, welcomed over 33,000 children, families and animal-lovers, to enjoy the programme of dog competitions, displays, and interactive learning, through the Arabian Heritage and Pedigree and Whiskas Pet Health Check Center tents.

The spectators and competitors arrived at the stadium from 8am, to enjoy all of the morning’s best in breed competitions, followed by an afternoon of 30 fun-filled categories; including ‘best six legs’ and ‘happiest dog’, as well as the well-loved UAE Police canine unit display. Dog-owners relished in socializing with other canine lovers, sharing tips and rubbing noses, with many dressing up for the annual event.

As Pedigree® & Whiskas® Dubai Pet Show is a non-profit event, proceeds from the entrance tickets will be collated and donated to local animal charities, helping to look after animals in need of new and loving homes. K9 Friends and Sharjah Cat and Dog Shelter both had stands at the event, and were able to speak with the public about potential re-homing and adoptions.
