The Role

Our client is a leading manufacturer of various petrochemicals and successfully markets their products to a wide customer base including construction, pharmaceutical and electronics clients.

Their continued success within the market has allowed them to launch several downstream projects to continue their growth which has led to this vacancy where they currently require a Senior Marketing Manager to join their team in Al Khobar.

The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all marketing activities related to market research, analysis, promotion and the solicitation of prospect customers. This will include the company’s overall sales & marketing plans, plus strategies and budgets. This is an ideal opportunity to lead and play a crucial role in developing one of the region’s most prominent petrochemical businesses globally with extensive international travelling required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To add value and participate in the company’s business planning and development by possessing thorough market exposure and sound business skills
• Advise and assist on the annual planning cycle and prepares profitable forecast for all department raw materials and marketed products
• Lead and manages the complete sales cycle from qualifying, to proposal development, to competing and finally closing
• To provide overview to department management on business results and product profitability in relation to evaluation of financial results and future business / market trends
• Conduct market and production research studies and prepares reports to management on how to improve profitability
• Assist in setting prices for different products and price forecasts
• Develop and implement marketing plans and strategies for the Petrochemical market based on an understanding of this market and translate knowledge into opportunities, product requirements and sales channels
• Identifying, using and maintenance of various web and print subscriptions
• Research and detailing of news material, identify trends and macro-economic data for analysis
• P & L responsibility
• To ensure that the company is correctly represented at all times, for example at Petrochemical conference/tradeshows, print media etc.

Requirements

KEY SKILLS
• A flair for market research, planning and strategy and a keen desire to succeed
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting and dealing with agencies
• Experience in dealing with multinational cultures
• Proven ability to work under pressure, self-motivated and self-sufficient
• A ‘can do’ positive attitude
• Must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to present at board level
• Demonstrated management ability with highly developed interpersonal skills including subordinate development, team building and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated ability to work and support teams as both a leader and participating member
• Ability to multitask and manage a pressured work load

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognised institution. An MBA would be an added advantage
• Must have at least 15+ years of varied practical, supervisory and management experience in Petrochemical sector
• Global experience of marketing to Europe, US & ASIA. Singapore, China and India an added advantage
• Thorough knowledge of global economics and general product markets, production and distribution
• Have a desire to make a significant contribution to a rapidly growing organization
• Proven ability to work independently
• A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team

COMPENSATION DETAILS
• This is to be used as a guide only and will reflect experience levels and interview performance
• As a guide basic salary of up to $200k USD per annum
