The Role


The primary purpose of the Social Media Specialist is to lead the organization, along with the Social Champion to Professional Level Social, to drive and develop social media efforts throughout GM Middle East Operations & its Dealers (future) and external influencers.

The position will ensure that the core strategy is implemented & continuously improved for Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. It will also ensure all social media plans and activities for GM MEO campaigns and announcements are well coordinated among marketing, communications, customer service functions and other functions as required.

As part of the PR Operations responsibilities, he/she will support the communications department with monthly budget forecast, initiating purchase request and consolidation of purchase order or accruals.

Requirements


-Understanding and creation of new social media KPIs to track the performance of our activities

-Ability to generate, follow conversations and create affinity with our fans

-Expert in building social media campaigns on various social media channels to grow our fan base

-Able to create and identify quality social media content

-Abilities to influence others to gain cooperation, built trust and be a resource

-Media relations skills

-Strong interpersonal skills to ensure a sound basis for long term stakeholder relationship

-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

-Passionate for the social technology universe (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, Flickr, blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, discussion forums and community software)

-Previous experience in social media tracking and monitoring such as: tweetdeck, radian6, cotweet, sprinklr and hootsuite (Preferred)
