The Media and Marketing Show 2010 opens its doors with record breaking figures
News — By Samer Marzouq on December 13, 2010 at 11:43 pmThe 6th edition of the Media and Marketing Show (MMS), the region’s premier event for the media and marketing industry, opened its doors to the public and media professionals today. The three-day event, organized by the Domus Group, is being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 13th – 15th December 2010 at the Sheikh Saeed Halls, from 10.00 – 19.00 daily.
Every sector of the communications industry has a strong presence at this year’s event – TV stations, website portals, advertising and media services companies, satellite communication, production companies, publishing houses and many more.
A record increase in confirmed exhibitors for this year’s Media and Marketing Show has been confirmed, with over 90 exhibitors surpassing last year’s attendance by over 30%. Media partners from across the region including industry giants such as Al Arabiya News Channel, Dubai Media City, Dubai Press Club, O3 Productions, Creative Media Solutions, Orient TV and TRT (Turkish Radio & Television are being joined by leading players from Europe including Deutsche Welle and Russia today at what is set to be a high profile platform for leading media professionals.
Speaking on the opening day, Mr. Abdulla Abulhoul, CEO, Mediac Communications & Exhibitions LLC, said, “We are ecstatic to be reunited once again with all the national and international exhibitors and prominent partners. The MMS 2010 is solidifying once again its reputation as a leading business, networking and educational resource platform for the media and marketing industry in the region. We are already optimistic about this year’s edition of the MMS, and we anticipate really strong debate and knowledge sharing from the attendees. The upturn in exhibitors for the show is reflective of the renewed confidence within the media industry after the recent economic downturn.”
During the second day of the show, Al Arabiya News Channel, A main sponsor and strategic partner of the yearly Media and Marketing show, will host a panel on the future of telecommunications. Leading telecom operators will join together to address the future and challenges of the industry during a roundtable which will be moderated by Nadine Hani, senior business presenter at Al Arabiya.
In this context, Nasser Al Sarami, head of media at Al Arabiya, said, “Al Arabiya’s dedication to the Media and Telecom panel aims to highlight the strong synergy between both dynamic industries. Telecommunications has succeeded in getting closer to the consumer and plays a vital role in joining content with end users at any time and place. “Al Sarami added:” In parallel, media fulfils the role of producing and presenting content that meets viewers’ tastes and needs.”
Al Sarami further stressed on the commitment of MBC Group and Al Arabiya news channel in anticipating the future of the media and telecommunication industry, and highlighted that the decision to participate in the Media and Marketing Show is a result of the evident success of this yearly exhibition in the past years.
Al Sarami concluded by emphasizing the importance of the continuity of the telecom panel which offers a platform of engagement with experts and decision makers in media and telecommunications.
