- Celebrity presenters and talented Egyptian and Gulf singers
Dubai, UAE, March 17, 2013: OSN, the leading pay-TV network in Middle East and North Africa, is marking Mother’s Day, celebrated in the Arab world on March 21, with an exclusive promotional spot featuring the presenters of popular and OSN-exclusive shows and five talented singers from Egypt and the Gulf region.
To be aired across OSN’s Arabic channels as a tribute to mothers, the promotional campaign will feature Khaled Hamzaoui, the presenter of Mish Asli; Dr Heba Qotb of Eshaha Shabab fame; Mona Abdelwahab who presents Al Ghish Mamnoue and Amr McGyver, the presenter of Adrenaline. All four shows are exclusive to OSN, and enjoy rising popularity among Arab viewers.
The four popular presenters, who have established a strong bonding with the television audience, will be joined by five talented singers who sing exclusively for the OSN Mother’s day tribute.
Mohammed Nour of the WAMA musical duo’s exclusive song will be brought to audiences for the first time on OSN as part of the tribute as well as singer and comedian May Kassab’s rendition of ‘My Mother.’ A third Egyptian talent who joins the Mother’s Day tribute is Ranim, the popular composer who appears regularly with Khaled Hamzaoui on Mish Asli. Ranim sings several songs for the tribute as well as an exclusive rendition dedicated to mothers in the Arab world.
Balkis, the charming singer from the Gulf region, joins this impressive line up with an emotional solo performance in her melodious voice. From Saudi Arabia, Adel Khamais, the voice of Hindustani’s many songs completes the Pan Arab quintet with new rendition of iconic songs from the classical Arab repertoire.
Khulud Abu. Homos, SVP – Programming & Creative Services, OSN said: “We are delighted to mark Mother’s Day with a first of its kind campaign that celebrates the unconditional love, sacrifices and enduring care only mothers can provide. Our popular presenters and talented singers have joined hands for a compelling production that will captivate viewers, touching their heartstrings with their personal and emotional tribute to mothers. Even while some of them are personal reminiscences, overall the campaign is a true salutation to Arab mothers, for their resilience in the face of strife, and the values they pass on to the future generations.”
The special tribute will be aired from March 14, across all Arabic channels of OSN. The network has made strong inroads across the Middle East and North Africa region, and has a sizeable subscriber base in Egypt.
