Transform-MENA

Dubai, UAE May 7, 2014: The MENA edition of Europe’s prestigious Transform Awards has revealed the names of the regional finalists.

The awards which takes place on Monday, 2 June at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel will bring together seasoned professionals from the regional branding, advertising, digital and the communications sector to celebrate the most successful rebranding, repositioning and brand transformation projects in the Middle East and North Africa.

The event also includes a full day conference where industry experts will talk about the implications of multi-market branding, the effects of Gen-Y on employer branding and the challenges and opportunities of building brands in the Middle East.

Penelope Georgakis, head of brand management and communications for Swarovski Middle East said, “In a region where the branding landscape is predominantly dominated by foreign imports, it is crucial to recognize the extraordinary hard work and achievements of home grown brands both small and large. Initiatives such as the Transform Awards go a long way to help set the standard for which local organizations should strive for. Many of this year’s candidates were able to rise above their unique branding challenges and bring to life strategic identities that will stand the test of time.”

The Transform MENA conference includes an impressive line-up of key speakers such as the former CEO of Virgin Atlantic, Steve Ridgway, who will speak about his experience with a company that became one of the best-loved brands in the world, Wael Allahou, from petrochemical company EQUATE, who will talk on employee engagement and change management and in an innovative twist, Bruno Maag and Ahmed Kandil will go head to head, offering insights on calligraphy vs. typography, how fonts can bring brands to life and how typographical spell trouble for companies that ignore cultural differences.

Stephen McCallion, Global head of marketing communications, TAQA said, “I am thoroughly impressed with the high quality of the Transform MENA branding entries – from strategic thinking, creative solutions and through to effective implementation. An awards program such as this plays its part in promoting excellence, encouraging and inspiring talent and of course celebrating and rewarding success.”
