The Position:

* To key account manage defined business areas and / or projects, providing design and delivery of effective learning solutions for the Emirates Group. This requires the management and support of a core team of either direct reports or project team members to ensure effective design and delivery of training programmes. To be directly responsible for ensuring that all programmes are consistently aligned to corporate objectives, and meet National and International standards and regulations as appropriate.

Job Outline

* Business Process Improvement: To liaise with other training and development units to identify possible areas for training business process improvement, and to assist in defining requirements and testing and implementation of

resulting systems or processes.

* Development and Maintenance of Business Plans and Budget. To assist the unit manager in consulting with line departments and training and development units so as to develop new business plans and objectives, and to update and agree the work plans for the year ahead. To advise on resource requirements, infrastructure needs and budgetary requirements for the area of responsibility. To review overall plans on an ongoing basis, recommend revisions and implement changes as agreed with the unit training manager.

* Project Leading and Control. Where applicable, to project manage training projects to meet specified quality criteria, on time and within budget, reporting on effectiveness of project deliverables to the relevant training unit manager.

* Team Leadership and Development.

For those with a reporting team – to lead and supervise a team, setting objectives and targets for team members, and conducting performance appraisals in line with Group standards, maintaining productivity and performance measures. To support the unit manager in recruiting new team members by conducting selection centres and interviews as and when required.

For those with a Project team – to provide feedback to line management on performance and application of competencies as input to the performance review process.

* Ongoing Curriculum Development and Delivery: To conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) and audits of line departments to identify business problems that can be addressed by specific learning solutions. To consult with the HRS team, and/or unit and line management, in defining and developing curricula for business units and defined job roles, and in selection and distribution of training materials. To assist either training managers or trainers in auditing, reviewing and evaluating training programmes, materials, examinations and equipment, and recommend and implement necessary changes in order to ensure quality standards, best practises, and business needs are met.

* Management of Course Nominations: To schedule and manage training programmes in the defined area of responsibility, preparing and maintaining resource plans, accepting nominations from line departments, and confirming course placements. This may require varying levels of administrative responsibilities depending on the business unit being supported and the nature of the training need.

* Quality Review of Training Effectiveness: To follow up with individuals, HRS colleagues, line supervisors and managers on the impact of training programmes in terms of how effectively new skills are being implemented, reporting results to the training unit manager as appropriate.

* Development of 3rd Party Revenue: Where appropriate, to market, design and deliver tailor made products to 3rd party individuals or organisations, ensuring no conflict with delivery of services to the Emirates Group. In particular to advise the unit manager on opportunities/needs for relevant training and on implementation issues.

* Management Reporting. To report on project progress against defined cycles to relevant managers, customers and stakeholders.
