The Position:

You will be responsible for:

* Driving the vision and the long term fleet expansion plans of Emirates Airlines; produce and manage, long range strategic manpower forecasts to ensure that the Flight Crew resource requirement accurately match the requirements for the day of operation, Crew recruitment and manpower resources are optimised and waste eliminated.

* Contingency plans to counter short-notice changes to commercial requirements are essential.

* Ensure Long range manpower forecasts are focused into medium and short range plans that include recruitment, training, leave management and duty roster preparation.

* Manage the short-term Rostering solutions for both Flight and Cabin Crew providing an efficient and cost effective crewing solution.

* Establish Flight Crew requirements for yearly budgets as well as long term strategic growth of the airline. Provide continuous adjustments based on the Operating Plan modifications to ensure that Crew resource levels support an efficient airline operation. This includes strategic management of a rolling five-year plan for flight crew resourcing based on available aircraft delivery plans. Establishing crew targets for Manager Crew Planning to develop training plans as well as recruitment plan.

* Chair regular meetings with Senior Management to ensure progress of recruitment and training are inline with the manpower requirements and high light concerns when required. Negotiate crewing solutions that best meet the airlines long term objectives and ensure efficient implementation of strategic policies for managing crew resources.

* Develop crew Pairings of existing and new routes introduced on the network, ensuring optimized crew utilization and minimizing crew costs. Validate all pairings with the established Fatigue Risk Management System and present analysis and alternatives when required.

* Manage all aspects of Flight and Cabin crew rostering, ensuring the product is in compliance with international and local regulatory guidelines on legality and fatigue and that it meets the company requirements. Agree service level agreements with Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations and Service Delivery departments and monitor through regular meetings and updates. Provide solutions to accomplish mutual strategic and tactical business needs.

* Manage Flight Crew Leave allocation. Liaise with Fleet management to review and manage pilot leave assignment policies to maximise available leave, and mange change where the assignment of leave levels are in coordination with the manpower and operating plan.

* Provide the yearly Reserve allocations and ensure that correct reserve levels are assigned and managed according to Company Policy.

* Continually identify, develop and adjust rostering processes and systems to enhance quality of the rosters and achieve efficiency and optimisation of crew resources. Monitor the changing requirements of Flight Operations and Service Delivery to ensure rosters are in line with business expectation. Determine customisation requirements for crew rostering systems and ensure that cost effective solutions and tools are available to best meet the departments business objectives.

* Liaise regularly with Senior Management on Crew requirements and potential cost to the business through route analysis of prospective schedules and propose adjustments to minimise the costs.

* Establish key performance objectives for all staff reporting directly (and indirectly) that will support department goals and objectives. Provide effective performance management and development to ensure that desired outputs are achieved. Provide effective training to staff and continually appraise and develop to meet individual and company goals.
