Media & Crisis Management Specialist | Doha, Qatar
The Role
This company is one of the major LNG companies operating in Qatar for over few decades. As they restructure their internal communications team a new opportunity of a Head of Communications and Planning has been created to be based in their Doha office.
Basic Function and Scope:
1. Establishes and manages a coordinated and thorough approach to the media at all levels
2. Develops a strategic approach to media management for the company in line with its business objectives and issues, the Reputation and Communications Plans of the Company
3. Advises senior management on reactive and proactive approaches to the media on business issues and activities
4. Plans, monitors and coordinates all the media activities of the Company including for events such as exhibitions, conferences, and business activities
5. Ensures internal communication of key media activities, including employee
communications regarding media releases and events
6. Ensure competency development of the management and the Public Relations team regarding media
7. Identifies scans and highlights key emerging issues through implementation of
scanning/monitoring activities. Facilitates sharing of this information within the Company
8. Develops a network of media contacts at all levels, develops good internal network to ensure opportunities for proactive communication are captured.
9. Provides day to day management and direction of the Public Relations crisis management team including training and competence development, member of PR Crisis Management Team.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you will be someone with a minimum of 5-7 years experience in public relations within the oil & gas industry coupled with a degree in communications, journalism, business or public relations. You can either be from a corporate or agency background and ideal if you can communicate in Arabic. Preference will be given to candidates coming from sizeable companies with a corporate focus and understanding of business practices. |
