Nokia E6: The Smarter Touch
Pretty much like the E5, the new Nokia E6 is a business-oriented smartphone that is loaded with a full keyboard, a set of control keys and a number of office applications, however there is more the E6 than meets the eye, it’s a touchscreen device! The new E6 is one of the first two Nokia devices to run on the new software update Symbian Anna along with the X7, this operating system offers enhanced web browsing capabilities and better email service. This device could be among the very last Nokia phones that won’t run on the Windows 7.
The device comes in a really cool and smooth design, it’s light and easy to hold, and the combination of the full keyboard and the touchscreen makes it really easy to use.
In addition to the full QWERTY keyboard, the E6 comes with a set of control key that make easy shortcuts to reach home screen, calendar, contacts and email, in addition of course to the main Navi key. All these buttons are great but if you are used to full touchscreen phone you will probably skip these buttons and start tapping on the screen to navigate your way through the mobile.
The Office is a set of business-oriented apps including the Quick office, the dictionary, adobe reader, Zip and much more. The Quick office supports word documents, excel sheets and power point presentations, where you can create new files and edit exciting ones.
The E6 is equipped with an 8 megapixel camera and a secondary camera for video calls, the phone can shoot HD videos at 720p resolution 25 fps, and it can shoot in both aspect rations 16:9 and 4:3. I think it’s a pretty decent camera for such a business smartphone.
Speak the language you want with the E6! I found a bunch of really cool free apps on the Ovi store, these apps contain pre-recorded voices messages in different languages like Arabic, French, Italian and more, you simply choose what would you like to say and you the phone will say it, I guess it can be very useful when you are travelling.
The 2 most have apps in my opinion are the Skype and What’sApp, along of course with the social apps for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, it’s the right way to stay connected with others.
The internal memory on the E6 is 8 GB, and you can upgrade it either with an external MicroSD or a USB stick, personally I guess since it’s not a multimedia device upgrade is not really a necessity, but the USB connectivity is a good way to transfer files from and to your phone.
