14 September 2011, Dubai: Virgin Megastore, the global leader in retail entertainment, continues its path of success in the Middle East with the official opening of its latest store at The Dubai Mall, one of the city’s premier shopping destinations. The new flagship store offers more than 45,000 cutting-edge products and introduces a number of new store features and services to deliver its unrivalled one-stop shop experience for all lifestyle and entertainment needs.
The 14th Virgin Megastore to open in the Middle East, the expansion strategy being followed by the company reflects growing consumer appetite for its unique shopping experience. Offering an ever-increasing range of cool and trendy products, including CDs, DVDs, books, gadgets and toys, electronics, multimedia games and accessories, the company continues to fulfil the evolving trends for the region. The store also features Virgin’s second Apple shop in the UAE. The concept, which was first launched earlier this year at the Virgin Megastore in Mall of The Emirates, has seen remarkable success.

The distinctive design of the 2,400m² store reflects Virgin Megastores’ cool and hip trendsetting approach, with exclusive features that engage and entertain customers throughout the store. These include funky zones for music and movie fans to explore Virgin Megastore’s wide-ranging collection of CDs and DVDs at leisure, and a Virgin DJ booth that allows aspiring DJs and artists to demo professional ranges of music equipment. One of the fastest growing product selections in Virgin Megastore across the region is its exclusive Red Box section, a dedicated range of unique products and accessories that enjoy universal appeal. The expanded collection in The Dubai Mall flagship store also incorporates the popular Kid’s section of toys, apparel and accessories.
Recognised for encouraging the growth of local and regional creative talent, Virgin Megastore’s Dubai Mall store includes a special concert space to provide local and international artists with promotion and launch opportunities.
As part of the opening celebration of the Dubai Mall Store, the first Virgin Megastore Fest ’11 will see 25 of the region’s top acts perform in-store concerts, daily 6 to 8pm, during the three-week festival that kicks off on 15 September and runs to 7 October. Featuring performances by a diverse mix of local and regional artists, including Hamdan Al Abri, Kamal Musallam, DJ Bliss, Pierre Ravan, David Craig, and Juliana Down, the festival will also include special offers for visitors to the store.

The Virgin Megastore at The Dubai Mall is located on Level 2 of the Fashion Avenue, and is open seven days a week, weekdays from 10am to 10pm, weekends from 10am to midnight.
