63% of 102 analyzed E-commerce portals in Arab world accept online payments using credit cards

New research and analysis by the Arab Advisors Group analyzes 102 selected E-commerce portals in the MENA region. The Arab Advisors Group defines Electronic commerce, commonly known as E-commerce or e-Business, as the process of buying and selling products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks.

A new report from Arab Advisors Group analyzes and profiles 102 selected E-commerce portals in the MENA region. The Arab Advisors Group selected these portals for analysis as they explicitly offered e-commerce.

The new report, E-commerce portals in the MENA region was released to Arab Advisors Group’s media and telecoms strategic research service subscribers on December 14, 2010. The report -which has 121 pages and 12 detailed exhibits- analyzes and profiles 102 selected E-commerce portals. The report also provides insights into E-commerce usage in the region based on Arab Advisors major surveys.

Any investment in this report will count towards an annual Strategic Research Service subscription – Telecoms or Media should the service be acquired within three months from purchasing the report.

“Using credit and/or debit cards is the most accepted method of payment with 63% of the analyzed portals using it. Bank/Wire transfer or cheques and Cash on Delivery options followed with 46% and 44% portals, respectively.” Mr. Alaa Numair, Arab Advisors Group senior analyst wrote in the report. “89% of portals offered content in the English language. Arabic enabled portals followed with 39% of portals”. Mr. Numair added.
